All volunteers must complete Guest Relations Training. The training includes a two-hour Seek 'n' Find or Tour and serving as a courtesy escort at the information desk for one two-hour shift.

Provide escorts for patients admitting to O.R., Radiology and inpatient areas, and assist the administrative staff in Admitting. (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Must complete Child Life training.
Be the first to greet and assist patients and their families as they enter the hospital. Smiles are very important in this job! Knowledge of the hospital is very helpful and important (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Supervise and assist patients in creating quality artwork. Must complete Child Life Training (Monday – Friday, times vary.).
Provide distraction activities for patients and siblings during outpatient clinic visits. Must complete Child Life Training (Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Paint, glitter and glue in the hospital playrooms. Each volunteer is assigned to a specific playroom. Volunteers work closely with a Child Life staff member and patients. Must complete Child Life Training (Monday – Sunday, Various times mornings, afternoons and evenings).
A listening ear and heartfelt compassion are necessities when working with critical patients and their families. From getting a parent a cup of coffee to sitting bedside with a patient, a Critical Care Services volunteer becomes a cherished member of the Critical Care Services team. Must complete Sitter Training (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Assist staff in preparing rooms, escort patients following recovery and occasionally sit with patients. Must complete Child Life Training and Sitter Training (Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
Support patients, families and medical staff by entertaining patients and siblings with toys and crafts in the waiting area or exam rooms, and escorting patients to First Care Clinic or to their room. Must complete Child Life Training and Sitter Training (Monday - Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.).
Cordially welcome customers while maintaining the shop's high quality of service. Assist customers with selections, stock merchandise and deliver gifts to patients (Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Help welcome new patients and their families. Assist with orienting families to the hospital and to the services provided by Guest Relations. Must complete Sitter Training (Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
Provide assistance to staff, patients and patient families participating in the LEAN Families Program. Greet patients and families, assist with paperwork, participate in group activities and entertain patients and siblings as needed. Must complete Child Life Training (Monday through Thursday, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.).
Help families and patients find information and books in the Family Resource Library. Tutor school-age patients and siblings in the classroom. Assist with story time. Must complete Child Life Training  (Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Assist therapists with patients during treatments and provide diversion for patients and siblings in the waiting room. Must complete Child Life Training (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Participate "behind-the-scenes" while making friends, developing a new skill or sharpening old ones, and making significant contributions in a busy hospital setting. This includes answering phones and assisting with whatever job is in need of completion. Office angels are placed throughout the hospital (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
If you like to stay busy, this clinic is the place for you! Monitor patient flow and provide diversion activities for patients and siblings in the waiting room. Must complete Child Life Training (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Volunteer in non-critical care ministry areas to supplement the work of the full-time chaplaincy staff. Persons interested should enjoy ecumenical ministry opportunities. Volunteers will interact with parents, family and staff. Must complete 15 hours of Pastoral Care Training (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Offer tender-loving care to post-surgery patients and their families. Assist staff with restocking and bed preparation. May assist bedside nurse by holding and rocking patient. Must complete Sitter Training. Additional training is required from an experienced volunteer (Monday – Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Spend one-on-one time with a child providing support and compassion by feeding and holding an infant or reading and playing with an older child. Must complete Sitter Training (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
