Kids Chat: Why do you hiccup?
Doctor at Children’s answers the burning question
Emily wants to know: Why do you hiccup? Dr. Benjamin C. Lee, a pediatrician at Children’s Medical Center, answers her question.
Does your kiddo have a question for a doctor or nurse at Children’s? Ask it via video! Here’s how (you’ll need a YouTube account for this):
- Record your child asking a question.
- Log on to YouTube.com. If you don’t already have an account, don’t worry. You can easily create one for free. Just click “Create Account” on YouTube.com and follow the directions.
- Post your video in the “Video Responses” section under the video: "Why do you hiccup?"
- Children’s will review all video comments and contact you if your child’s video is selected for Kids Chat.
Tips for capturing a good video:
- Record in an area with lots of light.
- Let the camera record for three seconds before your child begins talking.
- Let the camera record for three seconds after your child finishes his or her question.
- Try to keep the camera as steady as possible. Instead of holding the camera out in front of you, keep your elbows close to your torso as you hold the camera. The farther your arms are out from your body, the harder it is to keep the camera still.
