Nurses capture Haiti experience on video

Two Children’s trauma nurses, Tiffany Morgan and Heather Rubin, traveled to Haiti with Compassion International 10 days after the earthquake hit. Their time in Haiti was completely opposite of what they had become accustomed to at Children’s.

Instead of top-notch facilities, they cared for wounds in makeshift areas with no air conditioning and limited supplies. And instead of treating injuries minutes after they occurred, Tiffany and Heather saw people who had survived nearly two weeks with severe injuries and little to no medical care.

The nurses’ raw footage and stories reveal the true nature of the Haitians — a courageous group of people determined to survive.
