These supplies can help you deal with minor emergencies:
Thermometer
Antibiotic first aid cream
Burn ointment
Adhesive bandages in several sizes, sterile gauze pads
Adhesive tape
Small scissors
Alcohol wipes
Acetaminophen (chewable is convenient), for fever or pain
Pedialyte® (for diarrhea or dehydration)
Diphenhydramine (Benadryl®) for allergy
Hydrocortisone cream (for itching)
Insect repellent
Elastic bandage
Triangular bandage (for arm injury or to be used as a tourniquet)
Small flashlight
Cold pack (a plastic bag with cooler ice will do)
A blanket (to use for chills or as a splint)
Calamine lotion for rashes caused by poison ivy or other poisonous plants.
Tweezers without teeth (for removing slivers or ticks)
Bee sting injection kit (Anyone allergic to bees should be taken to an emergency room for treatment if stung.)
Make sure you have: health insurance cards for every passenger and any prescription medications your family needs.
